Meenakshi Hospital Thanjavur launches Artificial Intelligence Integrated CT Scanner

First time in Delta Region, Artificial Intelligence Integrated CT Scanner has been inaugurated at Meenakshi Hospital in Thanjavur. First-gen graduate student Dr. Sanghavi inaugurated the cutting-edge technology. The inaugural function also saw the participation of top management and medical specialists from Meenakshi Hospital Thanjavur including Dr. S. Gurushankar, Chairman, Mrs. Kamini Gurushankar, Joint Managing Director, Dr. R. Ravichandran, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Shanmuga Jayanthan - HOD, Department of Radiology.

Dr. S. Gurushankar, Chairman, Meenakshi Hospital Thanjavur said "We are happy to introduce new Artificial Intelligence Integrated CT Scanner. Meenakshi Hospital has led the way in embracing new technologies and is actively working to improve the caliber of healthcare services in the delta region. We are continually interested in using cutting-edge technology that has therapeutic advantages. The scanner produces high-quality images while taking less time to scan and emit less radiation. It offers cutting-edge CT solutions, including an amazing new method of automating patient positioning.  Advanced technologies like AI are used with the intention of completely changing the CT experience. This state of the art CT scanner is very useful to people in our Delta Region” 

Addressing to the gathering, Dr. S. Gurushankar said, “Despite the difficulties, poor students from government schools have managed to become doctors through pure tenacity and hard effort.  Dr. Sanghavi is one of these students. Dr. Sanghavi graduated from the Government Higher Secondary School Poolangulam in Tirunelveli with a remarkable 1149 marks. She comes from a low-income family where her parents were striving to make ends meet.  Yet, she put her heart and soul in realizing her dream of becoming a doctor. We consider it a great honour to have Dr. Sanghavi with us as we inaugurate the CT machine equipped with artificial intelligence and tomorrow's technology.”

Dr. Shanmuga Jayanthan - HOD, Department of Radiology, Meenakshi Hospital Thanjavur said, “The newly installed machine provides state-of-the-art solutions for the entire CT experience gives high quality imaging, reduced radiation exposure, increased weight capacity, and smart technology. The smart application in the CT is an assortment of intelligent applications that continue to enable high-quality image output for cardiac, stroke, cancer, and metal artifacts. Utilizing perfusion shuttle technology, Smart Stroke performs stroke assessment scans to quickly and precisely determine the patient's condition. The machine removes noise, reduces the quantity of contrast required, shortens the time patients must hold their breath inside the scanner, and speeds up the entire exam.” 

Latest Technologies like Artificial intelligence (AI) allows the radiologist to participate even more with the patient. AI can be used to detect early signs of diseases such as cancer, which can lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment.
