Hon’ble PM dedicated to the the electrified Dindigul - Palani - Palakkad section (179km ) to the nation today (25.04.2023) at a function held at Thiruvananthpuram. The section was electrified at the cost of Rs.242 Crores.
Dignitaries including, Mr. Arif Mohammed Khan, Governor, Kerala Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw
Union Minister of Railways, Communications,Electronics & Information Technology, were present during the function at Thiruvananthapuram.
Dindigul - Palakkad Electrified Section One of the significant sections interlinking the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Palakkad-Palani-Dindigul
section has been brought under electrified traction to offer environment-friendly mode of transportation. Electrification will pave way for
introduction of MEMU services and will bring about seamless connectivity providing faster access to pilgrimage places like the famed Palani temple and other tourism destinations in the lap of western ghats.Electrification is also consider as an another milestone towards zero carbon emission.
At Dindigul Mr. P. Velusamy, Member of Parliament , Smt.J.Ilamathi, Mayor of Dindigul, Shri. C. Sreenivasan, Member of Legislative Assembly and Shri. P. Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager , Madurai Division Shri M.S. Rohan, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer, Railway Electrification, Madurai Mr. Bachu Ramesh , Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer, Traction Distribution were present at Dindigul during the programme.
At Palani At Palani, Mr.IP.Senthil Kumar, Member of Legislative Assembly and Ms . Uma Maheswari, Municipal Chairperson , Palani Mr. R.P.Rathi Priya, Sr.Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. R. Narayanan, Sr. Divisional Engineer, Coordination were present at Palani.
