Department of Posts, Chennai City Region under Tamilnadu Circle released a Special Cover on Ashok Roy Training Simulator Complex (ARTSC) to commemorate the inauguration of Ashok Roy Training Simulator Complex at INS Rajali, Arakkonam – 631 006 on 25.04.2023.
Ashok Roy Training Simulator Complex (ARTSC) is a state of the art simulator providing training to the aircrew and ground crew of P8I aircraft. It is a turnkey project being fourth of its kind in the world along with US, UK and Australia. It offers improved training standards. This simulator is named after the Lieutenant commander Ashok Roy, an alize pilot of Indian Navy who played a vital role during Indo Pak war in 1971. He was awarded with a Vir Chakra and Navy medal.
The Special Cover was released by Mr. G Natarajan, Postmaster General, Chennai City Region and Shri Giridhar Aramane, Defence Secretary received the special cover. Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, FOC- In-C, Eastern Naval Command, Mr. Kapil Mehta, Commandant Officer, INS Rajali and other senior officers also attended the release function.
