SPGS, CARDS, TNAU organized workshop on Intellectual Property

The School of Post Graduate Studies (SPGS) and the Centre for Agricultural & Rural Development Studies (CARDS), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University jointly organized a “Workshop on Intellectual Property” and a “Quiz Competition” for PG students of TNAU, Coimbatore in view of World Intellectual Property Day 2023 celebrations on 26.04.2023 at Anna Auditorium, TNAU, Coimbatore under the motivated guidance of Dr.V.Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU Coimbatore. 

Dr.N.Senthil, Dean (SPGS) welcomed the gathering.  Dr. R. Thamizh Vendan, Registrar, TNAU in his inaugural address felicitated the students on their participation in patenting their innovations and congratulated them for filing 9 patents in a year from their thesis research works. He also emphasized on the need and process of filing of more patents in coming years. 

Ms. Meena, GOI approved Patent Attorney delivered the special address. She introduced the concept, process and steps involved in patenting. 

This event also marked with the panel discussion chaired by Dr. D. Suresh Kumar, Director (CARDS), Dr.N.VenkatesaPalanisamy, Dean (Agri.), TNAU, Dr.J.Arthi, Professor of Avinashilingam University for Women and Dr. K. Preethi, Assistant Professor of Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. Panel members moderated the need for more students innovations and patents. The Quiz Competition on patenting was also organized and conducted by Dr.B alaji Kannan, Professor.  Dr.N.Natarajan, Co-ordinator, Patent Cell organized the event. Dr.N.O.Gopal, Professor proposed the vote of thanks.
