Mother Teresa Women’s University celebrated 77th Independence Day

Mother Teresa Women’s University, Research and Extension Centre, Madurai has celebrated 77th Independence Day, with themed as “Nation First, Always First,” an integral part of the broader “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with great enthusiasm on 15th August 2023. The campus was beautifully decorated with flags to commemorate the day. The programme started at 8.30 a.m. 

Dr.M.Pushpa Rani, Director of Madurai Campus hoisted the National Flag. All the faculty members and students sang the flag song and National Anthem together followed by the cultural programmes. Dr.M.Pushpa Rani, Director of Madurai Campus has delivered the special address on “Role of Students in Nation’s Development ” the students have actively participated in Speech, Singing, Essay Writing and group song on glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. As a part of the Independence Day celebration various competitions were organized for the students from 11th to 15th August 2023. 

The winners of the competitions were honored with Gifts and books. There were some parents who attended the whole programme along with their children. Computer Science department student Mrs.Nila Bharathi has proposed the Vote of thanks. Sweets were distributed to the students and faculty members. The programme ended with National Anthem.
