There are about a thousand convicts in the Madurai Central Prison, all of whom have been given jobs according to their skills and are working in the prison. Director General of Police, Shri. Maheshwari. The IPS is taking steps to provide vocational training to the prisoners for their livelihood after their release and to provide vocational training to them for better career prospects in the society.

Prisoners are also attending skill development trainings being imparted by the Prison Department and developing their professional skills

The products prepared for the inmates to showcase their skills have been put up for sale in the Madurai Prison Market and have been well received by the public.

The Superintendent of Police, Sivaganga District, Shri. Aravind IPS handed over the task of converting his District Police Vehicle into a CCTV-enabled mobile surveillance vehicle to the Madurai Prison Administration by the Madurai Prison Administration 

The Sivaganga District Police converted the police vehicle into a fully mobile surveillance vehicle and handed it over to the police.

On this occasion, the District Technical Inspector of Sivaganga, Mr.Sundara Vadivelu received the vehicle in the presence of the Superintendent of Central Prison, Mr.Sathish Kumar, under the leadership of the DIG of Madurai Circle Prison, Mr.Palanee.

It is noteworthy that the Madurai Prison Market was completed in a grand manner in 24 days by the inmates of Madurai Central Prison.
