The World Blood Donors Day Blood Donation Camp was organized during 14.06.2024 at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The camp is organized in collaboration with the Government Medical College and ESI Hospital, Singanallur. Dr.V.Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU inaugurated the camp at 9.00 am and Dr.M.Raveendran, M.D., Dean, Govt. Medical College and ESI Hospital, Singanallur, Dr.N.Venkatesa Palanichamy, Dean (Agriculture), TNAU presided over the function. Dr.Umasarojini, Chief Doctor, ESI Blood bank with her team conducted the camp.
About 104 donors including students, teaching and non-teaching staff, drivers and labourers donated their blood. Before the camp, the TNAU NSS wing organized Blood Donation awareness rally with about 200 students. Dr.N.Maragatham, Dean, Students Welfare inaugurated the rally and participated along with the NSS coordinators. During the rally the students shared the importance and benefits of blood donation with the public.
