As part of the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations tomorrow, an awareness camp on Yoga was held at Pudupatti village of Alankulam union on behalf of Central Public Relations Field Office, Tirunelveli, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with Tenkasi District Siddha Medical Office and District Social Welfare Office.
District Social Welfare Officer Selvi Mathivathana presided over the function. Pudupatti panchayat president Paul Vinayagam presided over the function.
Panchayat members, students and teachers from various schools and local public participated in the programme.
Alangulam Government Hospital Yoga and Naturopathy Dr. Neelaveni and Siddha Medical Officer Subbulakshmi participated in the program and Yoga therapist Raghuraman demonstrated various yoga asanas for healthy living and various yoga practices. The participants followed suit.
Banners advertising various yoga asanas and their benefits were put up on the occasion. Colour pamphlets on Yoga were distributed to the participants.
Field Publicity Officer Gopakumar welcomed the gathering and Field Publicity Assistant Velmurugan proposed vote of thanks.
