Annai Fathima College hosts a seminar on Data Integrity and Security in DBMS

Annai Fathima College of Arts and Science,  Thirumangalam organized a comprehensive seminar on Data Integrity and Security in Database Management Systems (DBMS). 


The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Kadir, Principal of the college. In his inaugural address he mentioned that our college remains committed to providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of information technology. In fulfilling this obligation, this like seminar is being organized for the benefit of students. He also pointed out that Data has become the lifeblood of businesses and individuals alike. The increasing dependency on digital platforms and the exponential growth of data have made data security a critical concern. Since the cybercriminals have become increasingly sophisticated with their tactics, using advanced tools and techniques to breach systems, the security measures have also become unavoidable. He advised the students to take note of all the points delivered in the seminar for their future reference. 


The Guest speaker Mr. Matthewsraj, elaborated about the critical role of data integrity and security in modern organisations and explained the different concepts which differentiate between data integrity and security. He also gave a brief outline on constraints, normalisation, data validation and data recovery methods. 


In the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Karthika, HoD of Computer Science Department welcome the gathering and spoke about the purpose of the seminar. The seminar was attended by over 300 students and 30 faculty members including Mr. Ramanathan, Mrs.Sasikala, Mrs.Nandhini, Mrs.Mehala, Mrs. Kavitha, Mrs.Praveena, Mr.Seenivasan, Mrs.Bhuvaneswari and Mr.Tulasiram. The arrangements for the seminar were made by CS department students Mayan, Mohamed Ashfaq, Eswaran and Prem Kumar.

The technical support was given by Mr. Udhaya Kathiravan, System Admin of the college. 


The attendees gained valuable insights into the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices for ensuring data integrity and security. Prof. Sahaya Auxiline Praveena proposed vote of thanks.
