TNAU celebrated Kargil Victory Day with Enthusiasm

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University celebrated the 25th Kargil Victory Day with great fervor and reverence today, marking the historic event with a series of inspiring activities and honors. 


The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Colonel J.M. Joshi, Commanding Officer, 5 TN (Girls) Battalion NCC, who delivered a poignant presentation with pictures and videos on the significance of the Kargil victory and the enduring spirit of patriotism. Colonel J.M. Joshi eloquently compared the life of a soldier to a "blank cheque," capturing the unpredictable nature of their sacrifice. 


With a deep personal touch to the celebration, Bharat Singh, a war hero who was directly involved in the Kargil conflict and lost a colleague in the line of duty, poignantly shared his gripping experiences in the war front.  A video was presented on the Kargil war narrating the harsh conditions faced by soldiers on the frontlines.


Dr. N. Maragatham, Dean, Centre for Students Welfare shared a deeply personal anecdote about her father’s experiences during the Indo-Pak War, which brought a touching observance of Kargil Victory Day.


To recognize the students who excelled in various competitions on the Kargil War, prizes were distributed to winners in elocution, poetry, and essay writing categories. The vote of thanks was proposed by Major. Dr. S. Manonmani, NCC officer of TNAU (Girls) Battalion. Centre for Students Welfare, TNAU, Coimbatore arranged the events.
