JSW Foundation, the social development arm of the JSW Group, in collaboration with NammaOoruNamma Palli Foundation and the District School Education Department, launched Karadi Path Magic English SLL – A functional English ‘skills for schools’ programme and Teacher’s Android App, at Government High School, Melmanthai, Thoothukudi district, Yesterday. The project was launched by Mr. Harshavardhan Nawathe, COO of the JSW Foundation.
A total of 14 government schools in and around Vilanthikulam and Ettaiyapuram in the Thoothukudi district, will benefit fromKaradi Path’s student-friendly programme.
Speaking on the occasion, JSW Foundation COO Harshavardhan Nawathe said “The Karadi Path programme is a scientifically designed program to encourage and enable children to learn and speak English Language. I have personally witnessed the success of this programme several years back and was amazed by the results in Municipal School children in MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) schools. I am sure this program will be extremely valuable to the children of Government Schools here."
After the official launch Karadi Path Education Company, Senior Vice President - Product, Training and Social Impact. Preetika Venkatakrishnan introduced theatre, art and music-based pedagogy to the audience which included headmasters,headmistresses, teachers and students.
Sharing more details Karadi Path Education Company Regional Head of the project Arockia Selvaraj said, "We are elated at our initiative reaching more students. We have an experienced team who has been working with Tamil Nadu government schools for over a decade, particularly focusing on rural and tribal areas. We are confident that our experience will greatly benefit this expansion."
The project adopts a mentor-led model, with a dedicated team of trainers who use Teaching and Learning Materials (TLM) like videos to drive home the concepts to the students. The unique approach encourages teachers to become co-learners in the process, thus enhancing the overall educational experience.
JSW Foundation has also implemented Karadi Path's pedagogy, conceived by social innovator Mr. CP Viswanath, Karadi Path Education Company to develop English language skills among students in Barmer, Rajasthan, as part of its broader CSR activities.
