The NSS unit functioning under the Centre for Students Welfare of Tamilnadu Agricultural University is organizing a special camp for the NSS volunteers from 2nd to 8th August, 2024 in which 573 volunteers of Second Year under graduates are taking part.


The villages viz., Thenkarai, Sellappagoundan Pudhur, Sennanur, Mathipalayam, Karadimadai and Kuppanur are the adopted villages of the special camp. The Special NSS Camp was inaugurated by the direction of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore today at Thenkarai.  The enthusiastic and informative presidential address was delivered by Dr. N. Maragatham, Dean, Centre for Students Welfare. Professor Dr. J.Venkata Pirabu Former Director Planning & Monitoring felicitated the inaugural function with his provoking speech.


The panchayat officials Mrs.Mahalakshmi, Mr. Palaniappan, Thenkari, Mr. Muthuraja, and Mr. C. Krishnaswamy, Madhampatti Village made their august presence.


Along with mandatory activities, volunteers from various units will conduct special camp activities, such as necessity and location-based technology demos in agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, and other allied sectors.  Cleanliness Drive, health and wellness camps, Environmental Conservation and Educational programs etc., will be focused during the special camp.  


The entire special camp activities will be coordinated by the NSS Program Coordinator Dr. M. Prahadeeswaran and all the Program officers with the guidance of Dr. N. Maragatham, Dean, Center for Students Welfare.
