An MoU was signed between Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and M/s. Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Ltd., Varanasi, for large scale commercial production and marketing of “TNAU Stored Grain Insect Probe Trap”.
This insect probe trap was developed by Dr.S.Mohan, Professor of Agricultural Entomology, TNAU. The use of trap is an efficient method of detecting and trapping insects in stored grains. TNAU insect probe trap consists of three basic components; a main tube, an insect trapping tube and a detachable cone at the bottom.
TNAU Insect trap is an excellent insect detection device in food grains and more effective in the detection of stored grain insects both in terms of detection as well as number of insects caught.
On behalf of TNAU, Dr.R.Thamizh Vendan, Registrar and on behalf of Parashar Agrotech Bio Private Ltd., Mr.Purnendra Shekhar Pandey, Director signed the MoU. Dr.E.Somasundaram, Director, Agribusiness Development; Dr.A.Raviraj, Dean, Agricultural Engineering, Dr.M.Balakrishnan, Professor and Head, Department of Food Process Engineering, Dr.S.Mohan, Retired Professor of Entomology, Scientists of TNAU and Officials from the company were also present.
