Yoga session and Child Protection Awareness on Second day of ICOP by CBC at Coimbatore

Central Bureau of Communication under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing five day integrated Communication Outreach Programme at Police Community Hall in Coimbatore. Technical Asst CBC Coimbatore Shri SR Chandrasekharan welcomed.


Shri K Devi Padmanabhan Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirappalli in his key note address said that the integrated communication outreach programme is organized to create awareness about government welfare schemes to public. He said Coimbatore MP Dr Ganapathy Rajkumar inaugurated the ICOP on Tuesday. PIB CBC ADG Shri M Annadurai CBC Chennai Director Smt Leela Meenakshi addressed the gathering to department officials form Lead district Bank, Canara Bank, ICDS, Postal Department. The ICOP will be held till August 31 Saturday with each day having separate themes and experts addressing the public and students on specific themes. On the second day Yoga and mental health and child protection are the themes, he added. He urged public and students in particular to make use of the awareness speeches by experts. 


Yoga master Shri Narayanaswamy performed various yogasanas to help reduce mental stress. He spoke about yogasanas which can be performed regularly to concentrate on studies and remove mental tension especially for students. 


Smt Halfa Coimbatore District child protection officer spoke about various child protection laws and emergency numbers including 1098 for children in distress to call for help.She said that public should respond to prevent child abuse. Prizes were given to students who won in competition.


Technical Asst CBC Chennai Shri M Murali FPA Dharmapuri Shri M Thyagarajan FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar coordinated the event. 


Village awareness programme was held at Seerapalayamvillage in Madukkarai Block by Central Bureau of Communication in the evening.  Shri S R Chandrasekharan Technical Asst CBC Coimbatore delivered welcome address. Shri K Devi Padmanabhan FPO CBC Tiruchirappalli in his keynote address spoke about various govt welfare schemes including PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. 


Selvi M Srinithi ChildDevelopment Protection Officer ICDS Madukkarai spoke about importance of breast feeding and nutrition. Shri Jeetendran LDM Canara Bank spoke about banking loans and schemes. Shri Eswaramurthy Sr Manager Canara Bank spoke about banking schemes. Shri  A Revi FLC Canara Bank spoke about PM Jan Dhan Yojana and various banking loans.  Seerapalayam Panchayat president Shri Balu, Sree Abirami College of Nursing  Vice Principal Smt R Ganthimathi FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar spoke. 


Sree Abirami college of Nursing NSS Programme Officer Smt V Rajeswari rendered vote of thanks. Students of  Sree Abirami College played skit on govt schemes and performed Villu pattu on nutrition theme. Cloth bags were distributed to villagers to create awareness on avoiding plastic usage.
