National Institute Of Technology Puducherry celebrated Engineers' Day on September 13, 2024, in honor of the legendary engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The Institute of Engineers (India) [IE(I)] student chapters from various departments—Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME)—organized a series of events to mark the occasion.
These events, aimed at fostering innovation and creativity, saw active participation from students across the institute. The winners of the competitions were felicitated during the Engineers' Day celebration by the Chief Guest, Mr. S. Srikanth, Superintending Engineer and Project Director. In his keynote address, Mr. Srikanth inspired the students by emphasizing the true essence of engineering. He encouraged them to become problem solvers who harness their technical knowledge to address real-world challenges. He further stressed the pivotal role of innovation in the field of engineering, urging students to continually strive for excellence.
The event was graced by the Director Dr. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar and Registrar Dr. S. Sundaravarathan, who also addressed the gathering. The celebration served as a reminder of the significance of engineering in nation-building and inspired the students to continue striving for excellence in their field.
